“I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, will come,” says the Lord Almighty. Malachi 3:1
This verse is a prophecy of the coming of John the Baptist. He was the messenger that would prepare the way for the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the Messiah. He was sent to call all men unto repentance, which is turning from sin, so the Lord could find dwelling in His temple, which is us who believe.
How does this verse help to prepare me to expand His Kingdom?
Because I know that Jesus is coming again, I have a fire inside of me burning for you. I desire that you all know Him and His ways. He is surely not a God who would lie. He promised a second coming and now He has called on His chosen people to prepare the way of the Lord. We are now His messengers of the gospel.
The time is near, just look around you. The love of many has grown so cold.
But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people. 2 Timothy 3:1-5
This verse sure sounds like the days we are living in, in increasing measure at that.
I urge you my friends and family. This day will come like a thief in the night. No one knows the day or hour, but it will come. Have you repented from sin and turned your heart towards God? If not let me give you some encouragement to do so today. Now.
Over 25 years ago, a messenger was sent to me to introduce me to Jesus. I was in a gang at the time. God strategically set it up, so this messenger could come and share the love of Christ with me while I was at my lowest and darkest time of my life. I was on drugs, living with prostitutes, brutal, slanderous, and the like.
When I met this Jesus, and it was the best decision of my life to leave my old way of life, and walk in the newness of life with Christ living in me, His temple. Daily I still turn away from things that keep my focus on what this life here on earth has to offer, and I choose moment by moment to look up and see with my spiritual eye to see what is unseen. That which is unseen is eternal. This life is so temporary, so why dwell on that which is fading. I have too much hope for the coming of my King, to waste my days on what doesn’t matter.
Again I say, today is the day to repent and renew your relationship with God. In doing so, God’s kingdom will spread out like a wild fire. Amen!!
