The storm was not expected. There were blue skies and smooth sailing on the ocean of love. A few waves bumped the lifeboat but nothing that sparked alarm.
The Lifeguard was on His elevated throne. He was in the optimum position for observing the storm having the maximum visibility. There was no need to fear. The wind and the waves obey Him. He is always a Lifeguard on duty.
The tides of turmoil came in swiftly and we were caught off guard. I was knocked off the boat by the turbulent test; the test of my trust in the loving Lifeguard. I started to sink in the waters of worry.
While attempting to stay on the surface, these waters had a strong current that was literally pulling me under, swallowing big gulps of these waters. Sinking into the deep sorrow that tugged at me to pull me under a current of curses, the loving Lifeguard never let go of the rope.
There are different rescue techniques for lifeguards, and they are equipped with the necessary equipment for a rescue. For me, a Lifebuoy was thrown in with ropes of hope. Constant encouragement from other swimmers from the lifeboat became the lifeline of the rescue attempt. They reminded me how to swim through these dangerous waters, and held the ropes of hope firmly in their grasp. The supporting scripture from Psalm 107:29 kept me afloat until “He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed.”
All the while, my husband was the anchor of love that kept us from drifting too far away off course. The loving Lifeguard sent some SON our way. We are once again in the lifeboat basking in His Presence, and soaking up all the SON that we can, to strengthen us for whatever waters we will again encounter ahead.
Remember that the loving Lifeguard is fully aware of what is to come, and He already knows what rescue equipment he will use to save us from the hurricane of hurts and whirlwind of worries. Reach out and grab hold of your ropes of hope and don’t let go.
