DAILY DISH: Pray for you Plenty
What has the Lord served you today?
Our Master Chef has created a unique taste for me today to fill me with everything I need for the day. The platter is served, and opened to find three layers of creamy Colossians.
We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you,4 because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all God’s people— 5 the faith and love that spring from the hope stored up for you in heaven and about which you have already heard in the true message of the gospel 6 that has come to you. In the same way, the gospel is bearing fruit and growing throughout the whole world—just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and truly understood God’s grace.
Today I give thanks for you!
Too be honest, thanking God for you is not usually my forte. No I am a little bit picky in what I choose to eat. I usually like to stuff my face with pleasures of selfish ambitions and my prayers consist of myself. I pray for me, my family and my circumstances.
However, as the Lord serves me this tasty platter of praying for you, many names come to mind. I am thinking of those who have loved me even in my rags, while begging at the temple gate to have a taste of His goodness. You came to my side and handed me some of the fruit that fulfilled me. You picked me up and gave me the glorious gospel which was the royal invitation into the palace. I was given a robe of righteousness, and invited to sup with you and the King.
How can I forget you so easily?
You and I are one, even as the Father and the Son are one, and I forget so often to give thanks for you.
Who are you, you ask?
You are God’s holy people, faithful brothers and sisters in the Lord.
I THANK GOD FOR YOU!
