Day 16 of Chartering the Unknown

The word today is ADJUST.

I am participating in a 31 day challenge to bloggers everywhere to write for five minutes everyday in October. This challenge was issued by Kate Motaung’s link up. Join me everyday as I chart our progress (in 5 minutes) on the unknown adventure with a known God.

Still on the cruise. We will be landing sail tomorrow in Florida. Then we plan to look around for housing and jobs there in Florida. Yes I will just have to adjust if the Lord moves us there.

The whole reason we were talking about moving to South Carolina was because I refused to move to Florida. I have personal reasons, but I am walking in submission to the Lord and my husband in adjusting my attitude. My husband’s kids are all in Florida and he wanted to be closer to them and his grandchild. I have a daughter in Virginia, and so I thought that South Carolina would be a good place to be centrally located. But if you have been reading along with my adventure, you will have seen that I am giving up all control, and not being the one who plans the move. I will adjust to God’s plan.

My husband knew my heart to not want to be in Florida, and so he didn’t pursue it. Until that is, he heard me say, “God is going to tell you the plan, and I will follow, no matter where we go.” Then he had this holy boldness about him that I have never seen before, and started looking into locations there. Oh my, I am just preparing my heart to have to adjust.

Just like a child goes wherever their parents lead them to go, I must become as a child and go where our Father leads us. He leads us to the Promised Land.

And he (Jesus) said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 18:3).

And I kick and scream like a child too. Florida does not have the same appeal to me as it may to some others.

Adjust me to trust thee!

Bill is leading us downstream! Watch out for that tree honey! 🙂

P.S. Since I will be unavailable the entire cruise, I will respond to any comments when I return. I have pre-written the blogs for the week of October 11-16 to go along with Kate Motaung’s prompted word of the day, and they will be automatically sent on the corresponding day. I must complete the challenge!

About jodiesdye

Originally from the Detroit, Michigan area, Jodie has made Perrysburg, OH her home since 2003. A former gang member and drug addict who had lost all hope of living, Dye felt the Lord calling her to follow him on Sept. 1, 1992. She has been following Jesus Christ for over 20 years with a greater addiction than she had with drugs. Her life testifies that God can create beauty from the hopeless cases in today’s society. What the enemy meant for her demise, God turned everything around to prove that it was the foolish one who would confound the wisdom of this world. Bill and Jodie Dye married in October 10, 2010. They have three children each, making their lovely family a model of the brady bunch. Four of those children are adults and are successfully making responsible choices for their futures and two sons still at home. Before Bill and Jodie were married, Jodie worked as a computer programmer, however, her passion was with people. She now has the opportunity to teach weekly Beauty Treatment classes at her home church, Calvary Church on Conant street in Maumee, OH. Her passion is to prepare the Church for the coming of Jesus Christ. Jodie directs and hosts Beauty Treatment Retreats. She has also been a speaker at various women's events and conferences.
