Meat or Defeat?

Monday morning is here, and we are preparing for a big move. As we enter into our unknown adventure, this verse is on my mind,

For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess. 17 But if your heart turns away and you are not obedient, and if you are drawn away to bow down to other gods and worship them, 18 I declare to you this day that you will certainly be destroyed. You will not live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to enter and possess.”

Deut 30:16-18 NIV

Now check out this comic strip from Garfield:

God put a desire inside each one of us for His FOOD!!! His Word is our Meat. We hunger after His Meat.

However, we are drawn away and enticed by so many distractions which could become idols. We settle there in de-FEET (see comic strip 🙂 ). After partaking in its palatable pleasure, we start to get a little sick to our stomach, and we suffer the consequences.

Now why didn’t we just eat the Meat? Help us learn Lord.

But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. 1 Peter 5:10

Settle us Lord so that we choose Your Meat and not defeat!

His Meat will lead us to His feet, and at His feet will lead us to our seat at His table.

I love the way the Lord promises us something. His promises are so beautiful and I see Him working in my life. Him first, and the rest will follow. He truly blesses those who follow Him.
