Don’t Judge a Book by it’s Cover

When people first see the title Beauty Treatments on my book, they immediately think of the outer beauty. One of the reasons that I don’t have people on the cover of my book is so it is not misunderstood as being a book about outward beauty. Another reason is because I want to challenge the reader to look deeper than the cover. My publisher did a really good job capturing the heart of my vision of taking a walk down a royal path until at last you reach the light.

Me and my metaphor mind is a new blog for me. Ever since I was a young girl, I can remember always making comparisons to things that were similar. I seemed to always gravitate towards the thesaurus, and looking for new ways to say things. I like to rhyme, and I love using alliterations in the things I write. One of my favorite books is Pilgrim’s Progress which is a book full of allegories. I try to use allegories to make spiritual things have tangible meanings. That is what I have done in my first book, Beauty Treatments: Prepare to Meet Your King. Using the characters of the book of Esther, I drew parallels to the lives of you and I, making connecting comparisons.

I am fairly new to writing for the public eye, but the more I do it, the more I realized this part of me has always been. I have found so much enjoyment in the royal pen; writing in a way that will help my readers understand the language of royalty. Jesus, Himself used metaphors and figurative language so that only those who were truly seeking would find the treasure. When I read His Word, I find jewels that accessorize my life. I think my book is one jewel that I found in the big treasure chest of God’s Word.

There is more to the cover than any eye can see, it is a book that you must open to discover the beauty. The treatments I describe for the inner beauty can literally change your life as you apply them to your life. It is nothing new. It is all in Holy Text. The Lord just gave me creative figurative language to help the reader understand.

As I continue to use my royal pen, I hope to bring you with me down this royal path of kingdom posts. May you be blessed as you reflect from the mirror of my heart, and as you look intently into the mirror of His Word to see the beauty in you.
